
A well-established law firm is seeking a banking & finance specialist at senior associate or junior director level with a track record of managing complex transactions. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value mandates across multiple sectors while building a strong client portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist and support the partners on banking and finance transactions including acquisition finance, project finance, and debt structuring - from term sheet through to financial close. 2. Draft and review facility agreements, security documents, and related transaction documentation with precision and without supervision. 3. Manage deal tasks, coordinate with counterparts, and liaise directly with institutional clients and lenders as the matter requires. 4. Contribute to the commercial department’s broader transactional work, collaborating across practice areas on cross-disciplinary mandates.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Admitted attorney with 8 years of post-qualification experience focused on banking and finance law. 2. Strong track record in facility agreements, security structures, and multi-party financing transactions. 3. Ability to work independently on deal tasks while operating effectively within a partner-led team. 4. Comfortable advising both lender-side and borrower-side clients.
KEY SKILLS
1. Drafting and reviewing facility agreements, security packages, and ancillary finance documents. 2. Transaction co-ordination across multiple workstreams and deal parties. 3. Regulatory awareness of South Africa’s banking environment. 4. Client communication and direct institutional client engagement.
