A respected Cape Town-based law firm is recruiting a property law partner to lead and expand its property practice in one of South Africa’s most dynamic markets. Open to candidates with a portable book of business or those looking to transition with an existing team.

1. Director position with the authority to shape the practice and its commercial direction. 2. Exposure to large commercial property transactions alongside the day-to-day conveyancing practice. 3. A firm that understands that property law is a relationship business and supports you accordingly. 4. Move with a team (associates, senior associates).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee residential and commercial conveyancing transactions, including development transfers. 2. Advise on commercial property transactions, development agreements, and lease structuring. 3. Manage sectional title, homeowners' associations, and property regulatory compliance matters. 4. Lead a property team and build client relationships with developers, financial institutions, and corporates.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Admitted conveyancer and attorney with extensive property law experience at director level. 2. Proven ability to manage high-volume conveyancing alongside complex property advisory work. 3. Strong relationships with banks, developers, and estate agents in the property ecosystem. 4. Leadership experience managing a team of practitioners and support staff.

KEY SKILLS

1. Residential and commercial conveyancing transactions. 2. Development agreements and commercial property structuring. 3. Sectional title, HOA, and property regulatory compliance. 4. Client relationship management with developers and financial institutions. 5. Team and workflow management in a volume practice.
